I believe we still have a concert to perform! The students are excited to finally share their hard work as we hope to actually hold our Winter Concert and Art Show next week: Wednesday, January 17th. Food service will begin at 5:30 PM; the doors open at 6 PM as the visual art students showcasing their work; Intermediate, String, and Chorus students will need to have their instrument and be ready to warm up inside the gym by 6:10. Everything else will be the same as far as schedule, donation need, and fundraising except that we will be taking a major portion of funds that we raise to donate toward our local fire victims.
Speaking of, we still have need of beverage donations for this event and it is still possible for you and your students to sell or purchase dinners for our Booster fundraiser! The last day to turn in order envelopes is this Friday, the 12th but we will take beverage donations up to the day before the concert!
Also, as in our last change, I know and understand that this is another wrinkle in your families' schedules, but I hope that each of your students will be there (they will be asked to do an alternate assignment if they are not) and that they and you will do your part to sell meals and help bring people out to the benefit event!
As a reminder, please review the concert attire expectations for our students. This will vary dependent upon the group that they are in. Most students that need them already have their polo shirts - those that do not, have not paid for them yet!
In the days following the concert, I will be demonstrating for every instrument group how to clean their instrument. A reminder: those students that are borrowing a school horn, in particular, are expected to return it cleaned! Along with the demo, students will have detailed instructions to take home that you can watch them complete! This is an practical responsibility that is a practice just as important as putting gas in, oil in, or doing other care for your car.
Lastly, if you are interested in helping out with our concert activities this month or any other future fundraising, we will have this months Booster meeting on Tuesday, January 16th at 6 PM in the Band Room. See you all soon!
