April/May Update

​I cannot believe that the end of this school year has nearly arrived! That fourth quarter push is already upon us, and we have been very busy in the Music department! Symphonic Band and Strings have been busy with recruiting our incoming students and had a great Festival experience in March. Everyone has been working hard learning the final concepts and skills needed to carry up to the next level and I look forward to showing off their progress to all of our families at the last concert of the year on May 24th: our “Music for the Children” Spring Concert and Art Show.  We hope you will all come out to celebrate and be entertained by our students’ work!
Our VAPA Variety Night was a lot of fun this year and showed off great performances from all our participating students and again had a great turnout from friends and family in attendance! Each of our Visual and Performing Arts students showed great creativity and form and we look forward to next year!
Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and String Orchestra will work to finish their semester-long Folk Tune Research Project this month. Hopefully, some students will perform their compositions live at our Spring Concert! Mr. White will still use Teams to keep students up-to-date on deadlines! For this project, students should be taking advantage of the SmartMusic software we have just for them!
Our Parent Boosters continue to need your support! Our section Coaches have proven to be an invaluable investment in our Beginning Students’ improvement and our extra-curricular class trips, student gifts, and achievement awards are paid from the same funds. Be on the lookout for information coming home so you can find ways to support our music program like our final Bundt Cake fundraiser, but we now have a working Donate button right on our website (www.fillmorebulldogbands.org)! SYMPHONIC BAND / STRING ORCHESTRA
Soon after our recruitment tour for our incoming 5th graders at Fillmore Elementary schools, we went on to perform our prepared pieces at the Rancho Campana Festival and learned great ways to improve our performance abilities. On May 9th, we have plans to take a trip to Disney’s CA Adventure to perform and play. (Some Concert Band students will be invited to join us as well!) Participation in our fundraisers and any donations (link on our website) are very helpful to offset the costs of the trip!
Before the Spring Concert, we will also be performing at the Fillmore Arts Festival on May 13th. More details on both are forthcoming but mark your calendars! The end of the school year is going to be very exciting!
CONCERT & BEGINNING BANDS / PERCUSSION
This last quarter will see each group hone their skills to take them to the next level. Scales, instrument techniques, and our Spring Concert Tunes will get them there only with daily practice! Remember that students can always come in before and after school as well as during lunch so Mr. White can provide individual help.
¡No puedo creer que el final de este año escolar casi ha llegado! Ese empujón del cuarto trimestre ya está sobre nosotros, ¡y hemos estado muy ocupados en el departamento de Música! Banda Sinfónica y Cuerdas han estado ocupados con el reclutamiento de nuestros estudiantes entrantes y tuvieron una gran experiencia en el Festival en marzo. Todo el mundo ha estado trabajando duro aprendiendo los conceptos finales y las habilidades necesarias para llevar hasta el siguiente nivel y estoy deseando mostrar su progreso a todas nuestras familias en el último concierto del año el 24 de mayo: nuestra "Música para los Niños" Concierto de Primavera y Muestra de Arte.  ¡Esperamos que todos vengan a celebrar y entretenerse con el trabajo de nuestros estudiantes!
¡Nuestra Noche de Variedades de VAPA fue muy divertido este año y mostró grandes actuaciones de todos nuestros estudiantes participantes y nuevamente tuvo una gran participación de amigos y familiares que asistieron! ¡Cada uno de nuestros estudiantes de Artes Visuales y Escénicas mostraron gran creatividad y forma y esperamos con interés el próximo año!
La Banda Sinfónica, la Banda de Conciertos y la Orquesta de Cuerda trabajarán este mes para terminar su Proyecto Investigación de Entonación Folclórica. Con suerte, algunos estudiantes tocarán sus composiciones en vivo en nuestro Concierto de Primavera. El Sr. White seguirá utilizando Teams para mantener a los estudiantes al día sobre las fechas de entrega. ¡Para este proyecto, los estudiantes deben tomar ventaja del software SmartMusic que tenemos sólo para ellos!
¡Nuestros Padres Boosters continúan necesitando su apoyo! Nuestros entrenadores de sección han demostrado ser una inversión inestimable en la mejora de nuestros estudiantes principiantes y nuestros viajes de clase extracurriculares, regalos de los estudiantes, y los premios de logro se pagan con los mismos fondos. ¡Esté atento a la información que llega a casa para que pueda encontrar maneras de apoyar nuestro programa de música como nuestra recaudación de fondos Bundt Cake final, pero ahora tenemos un botón de donar de trabajo a la derecha en nuestro sitio web (www.fillmorebulldogbands.org)! BANDA SINFONICA Y ORQUESTA DE CUERDAS
Poco después de nuestra gira de reclutamiento para nuestros alumnos entrantes de quinto grado en las escuelas primarias de Fillmore, fuimos a tocar nuestras piezas preparadas en el Festival de Rancho Campana y aprendimos grandes maneras de mejorar nuestras habilidades de actuación. El 9 de mayo, tenemos planes de hacer una excursión a Disney's CA Adventure para actuar y tocar (algunos estudiantes de banda de concierto también serán invitados a unirse con nosotros). ¡La participación en nuestras recaudaciones de fondos y cualquier donación (enlace en nuestro sitio web) son muy útiles para compensar los costos del viaje!
Antes del Concierto de Primavera, también actuaremos en el Festival de Arte de Fillmore el 13 de mayo. Más detalles sobre ambos están por venir, pero ¡marquen sus calendarios! ¡El final del año escolar va a ser muy emocionante!
BANDAS CONCIERTO Y PRECIPIANTE / PERCUSION
En este último trimestre, cada grupo perfeccionará sus habilidades para pasar al siguiente nivel. Las escalas, las técnicas de los instrumentos y las melodías de nuestro Concierto de Primavera los llevarán a ese nivel sólo con la práctica diaria. Recuerden que los estudiantes siempre pueden venir antes y después de la escuela, así como durante el almuerzo para que el Sr. White pueda proporcionar ayuda individual.
