Nov./Dec. 2018 Update

November has arrived which signals preparation for our Winter Concert! The concert will be on Wednesday, December 12th at 6:30pm and is free for all to attend. Please mark your calendars because missing this for a student is like missing a final exam! All groups will perform and have the opportunity to help raise funds for our music program through our concert dinner! This concert’s Fundraiser Dinner is a tamales plate! They are $10 per presale meal, and include a drink. A Booster Letter has been sent out with more information.
The Live Performance Review assignment will be due the week before the end of the semester. Don’t run out of time to see a live performance to write up! Remember, it can always be turned in early!
During class on Wednesday this week (Nov. 7th), each group will be taking a yearbook class picture, so please have students wear their blue band polo shirt on that day so we look great!

SYMPHONIC BAND
Our visit with the Flashes Regiment on Oct. 26th was a wonderful time and we got to take part in a great win! Both Mr. Godfrey and the students are excited for the future!
Early in the school year, we elect Officers to help Mr. White with everyday tasks and representing the class for decisions. This year our President is Adan Topete, V.P. is Aryanne Munoz, Clerk is Joaquin Holladay, and Librarian is Jovany Perez! Congratulations!
Ventura County Honor Band audition information is out and some students that have shown potential and interest have gotten information and music. Audition times are set in December, so practice well!
REMINDER - Proper Concert Attire is: White Collared Shirt, Tie, Black Pants (no Denim), and Black Socks and Shoes.

We will have at least two performance tests before our concert so be sure to keep practicing!
