APRIL/MAY Update

I do not think that I can express enough how wonderful it has been to be able to travel and perform in-person for different audiences this school year. Both the combined Symphonic and Concert Bands as well as the Strings have been very busy with recruitment, festival, and on-campus performances. It has been a blast and has really reminded students of the fun that can come from doing the hard work they do! Even so, the last quarter of the school year is always the hardest to buckle down and finish. It’s time to make that fourth quarter push!
No creo que pueda expresar lo suficiente lo maravilloso que ha sido poder viajar y actuar en persona para diferentes audiencias este año escolar. Tanto la Banda Sinfónica como la de Conciertos, así como la de Cuerdas, han estado muy ocupadas con el reclutamiento, los festivales y las actuaciones en el campus. ¡Ha sido una explosión y realmente ha recordado a los estudiantes de la diversión que puede venir de hacer el trabajo duro que hacen! Aun así, el último trimestre del año escolar es siempre el más difícil de abrochar y terminar. ¡Es el momento de dar ese empujón al cuarto trimestre! 
It was nice to restart our VAPA Variety Night this year! We had great performances from all of our participating students and a much higher-than-expected turnout for friends and family in attendance! All of our Visual and Performing Arts students showed great creativity and form and we look forward to next year!
¡Este año ha sido bonito reiniciar nuestra Noche de Variedades de VAPA! ¡Tuvimos grandes actuaciones de todos nuestros estudiantes participantes y una participación mucho más alta de lo esperado de amigos y familiares en la asistencia! Todos nuestros estudiantes de Artes Visuales y Escénicas mostraron una gran creatividad y forma y ¡esperamos con ansias el próximo año!
Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and Strings will continue completing their semester-long Folk Tune Research Project. We are on Part 3! Mr. White will still use Remind & Teams to keep students up-to-date on deadlines! For this project, students should be taking advantage of the SmartMusic software we have just for them! The last part they need to complete is them composing a new arrangement of their folk tune. Just like with other pieces we have been working on, SmartMusic will be helpful for this project as well!
La Banda Sinfónica, la Banda de Concierto y la de Cuerdas continuarán completando su el Proyecto Investigación de Entonación Folclórica de un semestre de duración. ¡Estamos en la tercera parte! ¡Mr. White seguirá utilizando Remind & Teams para mantener a los estudiantes al día con las fechas de entrega! ¡Para este proyecto, los estudiantes deben aprovechar el software SmartMusic que tenemos sólo para ellos! La última parte que tienen que completar es la composición de un nuevo arreglo de su melodía folclórica. ¡Al igual que con otras piezas que hemos estado trabajando, SmartMusic será útil para este proyecto también!
The last concert of the year is our “Fiesta Musical” Spring Concert and Art Show on May 25th.  We hope you will all come out to celebrate and be entertained by our students’ work!
El último concierto del año es nuestro Concierto de Primavera y Muestra de Arte "Fiesta Musical" el 25 de mayo.  Esperamos que todos vengan a celebrar y entretenerse con el trabajo de nuestros estudiantes.
Our Parent Boosters continue to need your support! Our section Coaches have proven to be an invaluable investment in our Beginning Students’ improvement and our extra-curricular class trips, student gifts, and achievement awards are paid from the same funds. SYMPHONIC / CONCERT BANDS
Investing in the future of our program, leadership prepared solos and presentations for our incoming 5th graders at Fillmore Elementary schools. They were great! We went on to perform the same pieces at the Rancho Campana Festival and learned great ways to improve our performance abilities. On May 31st, we will also take a trip to Knott’s Berry Farm to perform and play. It will be a fun time to end the school year!

Invirtiendo en el futuro de nuestro programa, el liderazgo preparó solos y presentaciones para nuestros alumnos entrantes de 5º grado en las escuelas primarias de Fillmore. ¡Estuvieron muy bien! Seguimos interpretando las mismas piezas en el Festival de Rancho Campana y aprendimos grandes maneras de mejorar nuestras habilidades de interpretación. El 31 de mayo, también haremos un viaje a Knott's Berry Farm para actuar y tocar. ¡Será un momento divertido para terminar el año escolar!!
STRINGS
After our recruitment tour we are buckling down on our
concert tunes to finish the year! We look forward to the fruits of our first elementary tour and for how the district will continue to support our Orchestral Strings through high school!
CUERDAS
Después de nuestra gira de reclutamiento estamos abrochando nuestras ¡conciertos para terminar el año! ¡Esperamos los frutos de nuestra primera gira de primaria y cómo el distrito seguirá apoyando a nuestras Cuerdas Orquestales hasta la secundaria!
BEGINNING BAND / PERCUSSION
This last quarter will see each group hone their skills to take them to the next level. Scales, instrument techniques, and our Spring Concert Tunes will get them there only with daily practice! Remember that students can always come in before and after school as well as during lunch so Mr. White can provide individual help. 
BANDA PRECIPIANTE/PERCUSION
En este último trimestre, cada grupo perfeccionará sus habilidades para pasar al siguiente nivel. Las escalas, las técnicas de los instrumentos y las melodías de nuestro Concierto de Primavera los llevarán a ese nivel sólo con la práctica diaria. Recuerden que los estudiantes siempre pueden venir antes y después de la escuela, así como durante el almuerzo para que el Sr. White pueda proporcionar ayuda individual.
